Gold Screw It Pearl Studs
Motley x Frances Wadsworth Jones
The Story of the Piece
Fun fact: classic pearl earrings once symbolised purity and chastity. Even funner fact: these studs are an explicit rejection of those tropes. A single freshwater pearl pierced by a delicately crafted sterling silver screw? Now that’s the kind of symbolism we can get behind.
Also available in 925 sterling silver.
Every piece of Motley jewellery comes beautifully packaged and gift-ready, with its own free travel pouch and polishing cloth (whether that gift's for someone else, or for you).
About the Designer
Frances Wadsworth Jones is a British Jeweller and Royal College of Art graduate. Frances lives in London, where she runs her design studio. Her provocative style and eye for classic craftsmanship make her timeless, spirited pieces stand out.
Frances brings a rebellious edge to her jewellery, expressing an altogether more modern vision of femininity through her work. Freshwater pearls drilled with silver or gold screws challenge the old age outlook on pearls. We’d say her first Motley collection (and first time outside of high luxury) hits the nail on the head.

About the designer
Frances Wadsworth Jones
Frances Wadsworth Jones, or FWJ to the initiated, is a British Jeweller and Royal College of Art graduate. Frances lives in London, where she runs her design studio. She’s known for combining traditional craftsmanship techniques with subversive design.
The Screw You collection is a not-so-subtle rejection of the prim and proper pearls of twinsets gone by. We’d say her first Motley collection (and first time outside of high luxury) hits the nail on the head.
